I welcome you to my new Romanov and Imperial Russian website. This site will be--as you can tell--all about the Romanovs and Imperial Russia. First, let me introduce my self. I am Prince Sergei Romanov. I am a member of the Romanov family. I now live in Greece. I am a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Church. I don't what else to say so let's get with the Romanovs.
The Romanov dynasty was a great dynasty. It led Russia for more than 300 years. It started in 1613 with Czar Mikhail I and ended in 1917 with Mikhail II.
Of all the rulers of the Romanov dynasty, My favorite was Czar Alexander II. I don't know why. Just something about him makes me smile. Alexander II set the serfs free and was a person devoted to making Russia more of a constitutional monarchy. Much different than his father, Nicholas I who was a strong autocrat. I think it's strange that the person that assinated him was working for the a group that wanted more power, which Alexander was trying to give them. Memory eternal.
